Artist statement

In many ways the same life experiences which have interrupted my art practice have, in as many ways, contributed to make it better.
Travel, loving and mothering, caring for the living and the dying, and simply being a woman, have provided me with the rich substance from which my art is created.

Many Moons....

A compilation of more than 7 years work, Many Moons will be my first solo exhibition, opening on Friday 7th January 2011 at the Dogwood Gallery, Miles QLD.
The moon is associated with myth, magic, dreams, Goddess, cycles and fertility, and many moons describes a passage of time...a journey......of being woman.

Gelatine printmaking...

Last weekend I had a fabulous time experimenting with various printmaking techniques, including gelatine printmaking, at Petas wonderful studio...Bowerbird Studio...on the Cap coast. I am inspired to use this technique in future artworks and have purchased a very cheap..."first"brayer and some gelatine to get started with. My first efforts are indeed simple nd not yet works of art...however I would like to share these images and have loads of ideas about how they may be used...eg in collage, card and book making, gift wraps, and of course works of art on paper or canvas...the possibilities are really endless...Thanks once again to Peta Lloyd...sister artist extrordinaire!!! (did I spell that correctly???)
